On bent over rows and T-bar rows it’s quite for the low back & spinal stabilizers to greatly fatigue, causing these areas to fail before the upper back. As a result you’ll often see form & posture gradually deteriorate throughout the set. Rather than holding a bent over position & completing all repetitions of the rowing movement, a better solution is to reset after several reps by performing an additional RDL & repeating this several times per set.
Each time you stand up and perform an RDL you’re able to re-set the spine and allow the low back musculature to have momentary rest before repeating the sequence several times for the set. Not only will your form be significantly more dialed in but your low back will be less likely to fatigue and give out before your upper back & lats. This allows for greater strength and hypertrophy stimulus to the upper back and lats.
It also acts as a great 2 in 1 exercises as you’re now performing your rowing movement as well as hip hinge exercise. As an added bonus the modified rest pause or cluster set protocol allows the lifter to handle heavier loads ultimately leading to greater strength & mass gains.

After working out with a basic rep and set scheme for a given amount of time, employing different workout techniques can not only keep things fun and keep you fresh, but also ramp up the intensity of your workout which means more potential for some serious strength and muscle gains. Three of my favourites include: drop sets where we take a weight and perform one set, then immediately drop the weight by 25-50% and perform another set to failure with minimal rest and then drop the weight one more time and perform one last set to failure; supersets and giant sets which group 2+ exercises together either of the same muscle group or different muscle groups which can be an incredibly efficient way to train and can add some serious volume in a short period of time if working the same muscle groups in each exercise; and 1½ reps which is one of my favourite ways to train and involves performing half of a repetition of a movement, then bringing the weight back to the starting position and performing the full ROM of a repetition. These are some of my favourite techniques to add to my workouts and can definitely help keep things fresh while progressively overloading your body for some serious gains.

The age old question of how many reps you should be doing...Well based on the majority of studies, lower weight and higher reps trains muscles to be more ENDURANT, medium reps and medium weight ➡️to be BIGGER and low rep ranges with heavy weight➡️ STRONGER.

The thing is that all of this occurs over a spectrum. The number of reps and results kind of blend together. For example, even at a higher rep range, you’re still going to be making your muscles stronger. On the illustration above, the larger the font of the goal, the more of the focus is at that range. A lot of genetic variability can affect this, as well. Pick a rep range within the area of your primary goal.

I say pick a range because you shouldn’t just be doing 3 sets of 10 over and over. If you can do that then mission accomplished, increase the weight next time. Maybe you’ll get 10 reps, then 9 reps and then 8. Perfect. Keep going until you’re at 3 x 10 again and increase again! The rep range here would be 8-10
.
Don’t be afraid to work outside of the “ideal” rep range for your goal. It’s good to train your muscles at different rep schemes

I get asked literally all the time how to lose love handles. And my answer never changes. You cannot spot reduce your body fat, but you can eat healthy, you can train hard and you can sleep properly and do all those things consistently. Too many people start buying fat burners or do thousands of crunhes and side planks thinking that will burn them off. That's now how it works. Consistency is what works. Eating whole foods in a well balanced way, building muscle an getting strong as hell, getting active throughout the day, and sleeping properly each night. I mentioned fasted walks on my page before as my mentor Mike Dolce has brought them to popularity. They are where you can do a fasted walk in the morning prior to having breakfast in which you can do it for about 45 to 60 minutes at a low intensity and this actually helps target that stubborn body fat due to the absence of insulin which makes those fat receptors more willing to open up and for those cells to undergo lipolysis. Don't buy into the fads or the pills or potions it doesn't work that way.

•What’s more important? Weight or Reps... Find a moderate to heavy load you can control and flex out 10-12+ reps. This will provoke a TUT (Time Under Tension) effect and your going to see some good response.
•I have never been a fan of going to a MAX load very often. I may get some slack from the BBs but it just doesn’t make ANY sense unless your powerlifting for Top numbers. Body Building in every fashion is about ART and development of the muscle. Strong muscles usually follow but it’s not the focus.

As you can see, per gram/volume of food, most of these cereals are relatively calorie dense. Though not displayed on this graphic, some are relatively bereft of protein and fibre. However, if they are enjoyed and consumption mutually supports the goal, then they still have a place in one’s diet.
These portions are based on 50g servings, inclusive of 200ml of semi skimmed milk. If one was regularly inclined to supplement one 50g serving with a further serving(s), they would (in most cases) be delving into the high hundreds or early thousands in terms of calories consumed in one episode of cereal eating.
Whilst this is not necessarily wrong and can technically fit the energy target of your goal, value in terms of satiety, sustained energy, mood and subsequent food related behaviours are important considerations to reflect on. The latter could elicit an inclination to consume further excessive calories due to satiety not being achieved. This directly affects adherence to the nutritional plan.

All to often we sterotype people and try to figure them out, before we even get to know them. I know, because i do it too. .
But often times we only see the here and now, and we dont know the story of the person on how they got there. .
I was def not in the cool crowd growing up. I had my little circle of friends. I wore coke bottle glasses and a patch over one eye. I had curly frizzy hair, and I didnt have the coolest clothes. I picked up running ( forest gump voice 'and i was a runnang) because it made me feel better about myself. .
I ran for years, have done millions of 5ks, a couple of 8ks, 2 half marathons, and even did a du-athathlon (which sucked btw)Running got me lean, but i didnt have much muscle. And i knew very little about nutrition.
I get asked alot how i get to look the way that i do. While i may have some good genes in there, it also comes down to educating myself on how the body works, (It fascinates me) and implimenting what ive learned to see how it works. .
Your results are hugely impacted by proper nutrtion outside of the gym, especually in a post workout setting (i used to think not eating after i worked out would save me calories...boy was i wrong) .
Weight training has incredable health benefits, but its also imprrative if you want to look 'tone'. I have learned through my journey, to maintain the lean muscle that I have (to help me burn body fat so i look 'tone') its also imperative I repair the muscle i just beat to heck in the gym immediately. .
I have been taking a protein that is already broken down or 'pre-digested' to promote muscle repair after workouts as fast as possible. Faster repair=faster results. .
In order for the protein to do its job, replenishing the energy lost during my workout also will help shuttle the protein where it needs and fast! If you just take protein, the body will convert that into a carb source to replace the energt first....because well, survival. .

I cant tell you how much better i feel afterwards, how much stronger i feel going into my training day the next day, and the changes ive seen in my physique over the last year and a half.
