Garlic Butter Grilled Steak & Shrimp 🍤🥩😋⁠

A gourmet steak dinner that tastes like something out of a restaurant, ready and on the table in less than 15 minutes. By @cafedelites⁠
~⁠
4 cloves garlic, (or 1 tablespoon minced garlic)⁠
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped⁠
1 tablespoon olive oil⁠
4 New York Steak strip steaks (Porterhouse steaks)⁠
Salt and pepper⁠
8 ounces (250 g) shrimp deveined, tails on or off⁠
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided⁠
Mix together butter, garlic and fresh chopped parsley. Refrigerate until ready to use. Heat a large grill over high heat. Lightly grease grill plates with oil. Pat steaks dry with paper towel. Brush lightly with oil and generously season with salt and pepper. Grill steaks for 4-5 minutes each side until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Spread half of the butter all over of steaks. Transfer steaks to a warm plate and let rest for 5 minutes. While steaks are resting, melt remaining butter. Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium and grill your shrimp for 5-6 minutes, depending not the size and thickness of your shrimp. Flip each one halfway through cook time and continue cooking until they turn nice and pink in colour while white and opaque on the inside. Toss remaining butter through shrimp and serve with steak!⁠

This message is for my binge eaters:

I may not have all the answers, but I know what’s worked for me. And this tip has helped many others...so maybe it’s a starting place for you.
-
The idea of going on a diet felt sort of like getting sentenced to prison. Food was my comfort. And the thought of taking that comfort away was suffocating.
-
But I was so SICK of how I FELT. It wasn’t about looks at that point. My body felt horrible...like I had the flu all of the time. My mind was a wreck...depression and anxiety was taking a toll on my life that even medication was not alleviating.
-
But...I’d start a diet, and do so great all day, but come the evening I would sabotage myself. I would hold off as long as I could until I couldn’t do it anymore, and would eat myself sick.
-
The mindset shift:
1. Telling myself it’s not NEVER...it’s just not NOW.
2. Focusing on my WHY. Why am I wanting to lose weight? How do I want to feel? How will my life be different?
3. Asking myself the question: What do I want the MOST vs what do I want NOW (in the moment)?
-
Boundaries I set:
I promised myself I could eat ANYTHING I wanted, but I had to take these three steps:
1. Eat a full meal on my plan.
2. Drink an entire bottle of water.
3. Read my ‘why’ out loud.
If, after these steps, I STILL wanted to binge...I was free to do so. -
The scale isn’t always consistent. And when my focus was only on looks...and the scale went up...I felt defeated.
But when I changed my focus to how I felt, mentally AND physically, I had a consistent measure of progress.

The idea of going on a diet felt sort of like getting sentenced to prison. Food was my comfort. And the thought of taking that comfort away was suffocating.

But I was so SICK of how I FELT. It wasn’t about looks at that point. My body felt horrible...like I had the flu all of the time. My mind was a wreck...depression and anxiety was taking a toll on my life that even medication was not alleviating.

But...I’d start a diet, and do so great all day, but come the evening I would sabotage myself. I would hold off as long as I could until I couldn’t do it anymore, and would eat myself sick.

The mindset shift:
1. Telling myself it’s not NEVER...it’s just not NOW.
2. Focusing on my WHY. Why am I wanting to lose weight? How do I want to feel? How will my life be different?
3. Asking myself the question: What do I want the MOST vs what do I want NOW (in the moment)?

Boundaries I set:
I promised myself I could eat ANYTHING I wanted, but I had to take these three steps:
1. Eat a full meal on my plan.
2. Drink an entire bottle of water.
3. Read my ‘why’ out loud.
If, after these steps, I STILL wanted to binge...I was free to do so. -

80/20 (Meine „Regel“ um Gewicht zu halten und dabei auf nichts zu verzichten) .

Guten Morgen Ihr Lieben 🥰 .
.
Wie ja einige von Euch wissen, habe ich im letzten Jahr ca. 20 Kilo an Gewicht verloren und bin seit Dezember ungefähr dran mein Gewicht zu halten..
.
Das finde ich persönlich fast schwieriger als abzunehmen, denn beim Abnehmen hat man ja meist einen „festen Plan“ oder irgendwas woran man sich orientiert und lässt häufig bestimme Lebensmittel weg (je nachdem natürlich wie man es handhabt)
.
Ich persönlich hab ja in der Zeit sehr „streng“ Low Carb gegessen und wirklich alles raus gelassen, was auf 100 g gerechnet, mehr als 10 g Kohlenhydrate hat und hab mich dazu noch in einem gewissen Kaloriendefizit befunden (nach Gefühl, ich hab nie gezählt, außer in dem 1. Monat der Abnahme, um zu sehen ob ich von den Mengen richtig liege und damit Gewicht verliere)..
.
Was ich bislang immer nicht so einfach fand, ist das Thema „Balance“, früher hätte ich immer sehr stark mit dem Jo-Jo Effekt zu kämpfen, und hatte dann teilweise extreme Schwankungen von bis zu 8 Kilo rauf und runter in kürzester Zeit, das war echt einfach nur ätzend und Mega frustrierend...
.
Nun mache ich es so, dass mich eigentlich so ungefähr zu 80 Prozent so ernähre wie in der Diät, aber teilweise ein bisschen die Mengen erhöhe und die restlichen 20 Prozent circa eher weniger drauf gucke und das esse ich worauf ich Bock habe...
.
Was mir immer wichtig ist und mir hilft, egal ob ich bei den 20 oder bei den 80 Prozent bin, ist, mir Zeit zu nehmen und mir Mühe zu geben, mein Essen mit Liebe zuzubereiten, denn so machen auch die vermeintlich „langweiligen“ 80 Prozent Spaß 🥰und ich finde wieder leichter in die „gesunde“ Schiene nach einem „Egal Tag“ zurück...
.
Und ich mache mir nicht mehr so einen Stress, das bedeutet, ich wiege mich zwar weiterhin einmal die Woche um die Kontrolle zu haben ob ich mit meiner „Aufteilung“ so hinkomme, aber ich mach mich auch nicht mehr so bekloppt, nach einem Wochenende wie diesem (hab mir viel gegönnt, und früher hätte mich das aus der Bahn geworfen)...

Ich bin heut aufgestanden und fühle mich als wiege ich 10 Kilo mehr als am Freitag (weiter im Kommentar 👇🏻)...

Durfte ich bei Kollegen testen und das sind die einzigen Flavdrops, die (wie ich finde) nicht so mega künstlich schmecken 👍👍👍 Naja, mal sehen was die Waage diese Woche bringt, heut Abend geht’s nochmal schwimmen und am WE hab ich auch nicht über die Strenge geschlagen 👍 mal sehen und das Beste hoffen 😂

Always being told you should grab a chocolate bar or some lollies as you get a bit sensitive half-way through a tattoo.
You don’t need to sit there and eat kit kats, replenish your body with natural sourced sugars (or even the sneaky sugar alcohol). Eat a nice big healthy meal beforehand and you’re ready to go!
Note: some people are completely okay with eating beforehand and not touching anything during the session. However I do believe if you’re putting your body through any type of ‘trauma’ you need to be prepared to give something back to your body before it turns on you.
♦️ IMPORTANT NOTE: the low sugar gatorade is not keto friendly BUT if you are worried about wanting an extra bit of carbs/sugar it is your best option. As I weigh and track everything and am usually pretty strict- I will be swapping with @goultima electrolytes. If you are worried about getting dizzy and/or sick, you might want the Gatorade handy.

Can I just say these noodles have zero carbs!!!!!! If that's the case I need it on a daily 😝 I made meatballs in sauce which was freaken delicious 🤤😍😋 and had it with the shirataki noodles. I enjoyed this meal so so much. Definitely having this again. YUM 🍝

Yes it's cauliflower and not bread! 😋 whilst my cauliflower slices were in the pan frying and almost ready, I added a cheese slice, grated mozzarella cheese and another cheese slice over the mozzarella then put the one cauliflower slice on top and let the cheese melt in between 😍 I used grated cauliflower, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, Italian spice, eggs and mixed it all together. Then fried it in olive oil 🧀🧀🧀🥪
