It had gotten to the stage where I, more often than not, needed assistance with getting a coat or jacket on. Now after a 3 month course, I have got almost complete mobility back in my right shoulder and arm and around 90% in the left. Here's a girl that worked in memberships at my old gym that I trained at. I went out on my own and she stayed and trained with the other trainer that guarantees 'results'...she realized that her body wasn't changing and contacted me. We sat down and came up with a game plan. We have bumped heads a few times along the way but we got over it and I'm very proud of her. She makes the movements that i show her look easy. All of my clients love her and she makes us work a little harder when she's there. It takes guts to try new things and put yourself out there. Tonight I got to ride with this great crew. We all did 2 miles together, that my fitbit lost connection on, and then I did another 9.19 miles, totalling 11.19 miles tonight. It wasn't bellybuster bootcamp but it sure busted my butt. Legs felt like jello getting off my bike. Loved riding this evening. It was nice and cool and could hear the frogs and crickets making noise. Happy Tuesday y'all!

YOGA.... though it’s been around for at least 5,000 years (some researchers think it might be 10,000), it’s exploded in just the last decade. And once you’re hooked on it, there’s no turning back. One thing that does concern me is the injuries that seem to be multiplying all over IG. I know like any physical activity there is a risk of injury but I do feel most of them can be avoided. As someone who was in the health club business for many years, I am a stickler for proper form and avoiding anything that could possibly injure yourself. I see another trend growing in strength and functional mobility training which I have been incorporating more and more into my classes as well as proprioception to understand body awareness. Every body is built different. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, different ranges of flexibility and range of motion, some of which genetics could play a part. My point is, wherever you are in your practice , enjoy the process or the “journey” without any attachment to getting into any of the postures or trying to keep up with the person next to you. Yoga is not a boot camp, it’s not even a class really. It is a practice. It’s for you to be in touch with every part of your body , how does it feel today? It will help you figure out what’s going on inside your mind, your spirit and your emotions. It helps you to deal with life....the good, the bad, and everything in between. It makes you a better person. And if you’ve never done yoga before because you don’t think you’re flexible enough (I hear that all the time), it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch your toes or float up into headstand.
