I came across a great topic/research done by Dr. Michael Breus and wanted to share with you on perhaps finding out what type of sleeper you might be.
Basically chronotypes are a termed used to determine whether you are early bird or a night owl.
Bears tend to sleep and wake according to the sun, feeling most energetic during the daytime and having no trouble falling asleep at night. Their peak productivity occurs in the mid-morning and dips during the mid-afternoon slump. They represent 50% of the population.
Wolves (also known as night owls) go to sleep and wake later than others. Their peak productivity happens in the middle of the day and in the evening after everyone else has already logged off. Wolves represent 15-20% of the population.
Lions (also known as early birds) wake up early and are most productive in the morning. They get most of their productivity in before noon, so they’re naturally tired by the evening and go to sleep early. Lions represent 15-20% of the population.
Dolphins are light sleepers who have difficulty following a regular sleep routine due to more frequent nighttime awakenings. Their most productive in the mid-morning to early afternoon. Dolphins represent 10% of the population. (1)

Then in 2007 she started her teaching career, after about 7 years of a steady practice. Teaching on a regular basics started getting stale and that's when she found her own style: GYPSY YOGA MAMA. GYM sparked out of the need to have less control and more freedom. Traditional yoga classes rarely offer a time to move away from the mat, or out of some many linear asanas. Most of the time you feel like you can't venture off of the teachers path. GYM is totally different. Freedom, self expression, and dance are focus points. Bri found more people needed less directions and more encouragement to feel the freedom of self exploration. No two classes are the same... ever.
Briana has collected about 500hrs of Teacher training hours and workshop experience. Briana stands true to her practice and in doing so never has, and doesn’t plan on registering with Yoga Alliance, because that doesn’t make you a good teacher, it only makes you a “Paid Member” with a monetary value. 'Yoga is over 5000 years old and no one can tell you what your practice should unlock in you. The practice is the soul enjoying the human experience.' She is a certified Group Ex Instructor, Pole Dance Instructor, and a Senior & Kids Yoga Instructor in addition to Vinyasa Flow, and Primary Series 100hr Ashtanga. “I believe anyone can teach, if they LOVE what they know, and share it honestly.” I’m a regular girl, with a real passion to teach. Plastic usage and waste) We use so much plastic without even thinking about it. I did until I began reducing/ removing plastic in my everyday life. I started with one thing... plastic food storage containers because I didn't want the nasty chemicals leaching into my food, which I have taken great care to clean up. I save glass jars and use those for storage so, it's a double win! Also, I stopped using plastic produce and grocery bags long ago. Those are an unnecessary contributor to toxic waste. Here are two things we want you to think about to achieve a deeper squat position:

1️⃣ First, you want to think about pushing your knees out as you descend into the squat. Pushing the knees out creates more space for your hips to move more freely!
2️⃣ Second, try to think about spreading the floor with your feet. You want to make sure you don’t actually roll onto the outsides if your feet, but by maintaining good foot stability and spreading the floor, you continue to create space and allow your hips to more easily descend!

Now, it doesn’t have to be as wide as my knees are out in the video above - a general rule of thumb is to align your knee with the position of your foot. Some of you may have some structural hip issues that doesn’t allow for that and that’s totally fine! The intent of spreading the floor is the most important part. -

Y qué pasa cuando la pasas tan mal, te bajan tanto el autoestima, reniegan tanto de ti? No sé al menos a mi me ocurrieron dos cosas muy fuertes; no sabía quien era e inconcientemente sentía que no merecía ser feliz y saboteaba o me autosaboteaba cualquier oportunidad de ser feliz, tanto así que llegó un momento en que no recordaba lo que era reír, pues bueno a veces entre tanto saboteo y malos ratos y por mucha meditación y mucho yoga el mundo gira a una velocidad 107.000 km/seg y la gravedad empuja a 9,8 mt/s² y a uno se le olvida entre tantas fuerzas y emociones pararse a mirar, escuchar y sentir. Siempre que la vida pareciera querer hacernos llorar, si estamos atentos podemos saltar sobre una oportunidad de rizas y amor, solo hay que estar concientes, ya que la tierra gira y la gravedad nos empuja y de tanto luchar contras fuerzas que no podemos controlar podemos perder una hermosa oportunidad de ser felices o perdernos de alguien que nos devuelva la alegría, pq merecemos la felicidad, merecemos y somos el amor. Sometimes... it is just the little things🙏🏽

I must admit I wasn’t having the best mornings. It was one of those days I’ve cleared my schedule to be alone (which is rare), sleep in, to take time for myself and just do nothing. I slept in, I woke and for the first time in a long while I wasn’t rushing out.. so I had time. I felt fidgety... and started thinking about the move. My mind went spiraling. I meditated but it wasn’t quite enough today. I wasn’t able to focus on my breath. I needed to move. .
.
It was a slow and challenging start for me but I managed to get out for a 90-minute Baptiste class at noon. Btw, I forget how hard (and hot) Baptiste classes were. I struggled. The class was led by the amazing lyoness @bethanyalyons .. as I was doing sun salutations, I noticed a change in voice, I looked up and I saw that Bethany had asked one of the girls who was practicing, to teach with her. Instantly I knew she was a trainee, she definitely didn’t teach like one - she did absolutely amazing, I only knew she was a trainee because I was one just a month ago. It reminded me of my ‘practice teaching’ in Koh Samui - how nervous I was teaching in front of my amazing teachers. We always want to do an amazing job and not let them down. I remember looking over to my students then (trainees as well).. they smiled and encouraged me. Instantly I felt confident to continue. I felt safe and supported. I knew how this girl felt - to teach in a full class with your teacher next to you - it can def get your nerves going. As I was sitting deep in my chair pose, I looked over to her and smiled, to let her know it’s ok and that she was doing an amazing job. She smiled back. At the end of the class, she expressed her gratitude and as I expressed mine. She told me how she felt and that indeed she was doing her 300 hr training. I was grateful that I was able to make her feel at ease. My day instantly shifted. The whole experience, the practice, the smiles, Anna... she was amazing and she made my day. .

I felt absolutely no guilt in having yesterday off, but I did wake up with a huge bloat today so actually welcomed it.
Breakfast, trying to keep it lean was scrambled eggs, with chicken and cucumber. Breakfast is included in the room, but it would have cost 80dollars for the buffet breakfast, if it hadn't of been 😱 I mean that's some expensive scrambled eggs!! Lunch was a chicken ceaser salad from a lovely pub in Sausalito which we walked to today!

We came back to the hotel at 4.30pm for a nap and 4 hours, I wake up 🙈 so I think it's shower, PJS and back to bed so missed tea!! .

La constancia, el esfuerzo y la dedicación que pones a cada cosa, relajándote, dejandote llevar en cualquier aspecto de la vida, hace que poco a poco vayas fluyendo hasta llegar a esa meta propuesta. Lo mejor es la satisfacción cuando logras aquello que te propones.
